Cork East Fine Gael TD, David Stanton has received many complaints about the condition of the Youghal-Tallow road (R634). Speaking in Youghal, Deputy Stanton, has called on both Cork County Council and Waterford County Council to repair this road as a matter of urgency.

“I have had reports of near misses where motorists have swerved to avoid potholes and have narrowly missed crashing into other cars. I have also had reports of cars being badly damaged as a result of conditions of the road”.

“I raised the matter of potholed and dangerous roads in the Dail very recently with the then Minister for Transport, Noel Dempsey. He said that County Councils should work to repair these roads. It is not acceptable that motorists have to put up with these conditions especially when one takes into account the high cost of motoring today between car tax, insurance and fuel as well as depreciation”.
