David Stanton, Fine Gael TD for Cork East has welcomed the restoration of lighting in Carraig Liath and Ros na Coille estates in Midleton.
“I was pleased to receive confirmation from Cork County Council that street lighting in both estates is now up and running again since last night. Further to contact from concerned residents, I had been in contact with Cork County Council seeking that the lighting issue be resolved as soon as possible.
“Residents were understandably very worried that they had been without public lighting since the end of January. There is always an increased likelihood of accidents at night time and evenings are still very dark at this time of year. I am pleased that the public lighting is now working again.
