One of the largest investment projects, if not the largest ever, for Youghal, the building of an ultra modern waste water treatment plant, has crossed another hurdle today (Thursday 11th June 2015) with the approval of the required foreshore licence by the Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government Paudie Coffey TD.
“I am pleased that the provision of this vital piece of infrastructure is a step closer” said Cork East TD David Stanton who has been lobbying on behalf of Youghal on this issue for quite some time.
“Treatment of waste water using the most up to date technology is essential if Youghal is to develop and achieve its full potential. I have been informed that some legal drafting can now take place and I look forward to the design stage being completed shortly. I am anxious that the construction of the plant commence as soon as possible.”
“This is a very major construction project and, when completed and commissioned, will ensure that Youghal will become an even more attractive location for business, holiday makers and local people alike to live, work and to enjoy all that the town and its environs has to offer.”
