During a special Dail debate this evening, David Stanton TD, secured the Government's commitment to provide funding for staff to operate the PET scanner in CUH. This scanner, worth €3.8 million and essential for cancer and other services, should be operational next year.
David Stanton called for the Government to immediately address the toxic dump in Haulbowline and the ongoing concerns regarding the possible impact of this waste on public health by initiating a full clean up of the site and a baseline health study of the harbour.
