Cork East Fine Gael TD, David Stanton has welcomed the decision of the Department of Education and Skills to approve an extension to St Mary’s High School in Midleton.
“I am pleased that St Mary’s High School has been approved for a grant for a considerable extension to the school. St Mary’s is a very popular second level girls’ school and, like many other secondary schools in the area, has been operating at full capacity fro the last few years. I am aware that the school has been seeking an extension to their existing facilities fro some time now and it is very good news that their plans can now progress.
“I understand that in addition to four new classrooms, the school is also being given funding for additional toilet facilities and circulation area. I am sure that the additional accommodation will be of great benefit to both the students and the staff of the school and allow for its continued success.
