The decision by Norway’s largest dairy cooperative, TINE, to construct a new cheese production facility, in partnership with Dairygold, in Mogeely, Co. Cork has been welcomed by Cork East Fine Gael TD, David Stanton.
“The new facility which will make a new Jarlsberg cheese will be situated beside Dairygold’s existing speciality cheese facility in Mogeely. It is expected that this significant investment by TINE will lead to the creation of a large number of new jobs both during the construction phase and once the facility has begun production. This is an extremely welcome development for the Irish cheese and dairy sector, in particular for farmers in the East Cork area.
“While Dairygold have been working in partnership with TINE for many years already, this new investment will build on the existing business relationship and shows the confidence of foreign companies in the Irish dairy sector and the quality of our produce on international markets.
