Approval of funding for replacement of the water mains and traffic calming works in Killeagh has been welcomed by Cork East Fine Gael TD, David Stanton. Deputy Stanton understands that works should commence in the coming months.
“I understand from Irish Water that funding has been granted to carry out the water main replacement in Killeagh and that once this has been carried out traffic calming works will be undertaken. I am told that designers have been appointed and tender documentation has been submitted to Cork County Council’s Road Design Office for inclusion in the Roads Contract.
“Having followed up with the Road Design Office, I am advised that the project is due to go to tender next week and that this process should take between six to eight weeks. Works can then begin on replacing the water main and once this is done road resurfacing will be undertaken which will include traffic calming measures which are needed in the village.
“Once the water and road works have been completed in Killeagh works, similar works will be undertaken in Castlemartyr.
