Cork East Fine Gael TD, David Stanton has welcomed the €650,000 funding allocation to repair the collapsed wall and road at Moll Goggins Corner in Youghal. The funding has been made available to Cork County Council by the Department of Transport as part of the 2014 Regional and Local Roads Grant.
“I am pleased that Cork County Council has been allocated a Specific Improvement Grant of €650,000 to continue repairs at Moll Goggins Corner which collapsed in 2012. This funding comes in addition to €290,000 which was allocated last year to carry out further remedial works which are necessary for the long term viability of the road and sea wall into the future”, said Deputy Stanton.
“In addition to these works in Youghal, I understand that the National Roads Authority have also allocated €165,000 to Cork County Council for works on the pavement along the N25 on the east of Castlemartyr.”
