Cork East Fine Gael TD, David Stanton has congratulated the Principal and the Board of Management of Kilcredan National School as the long-awaited school extension is due to begin.
“Kilcredan National School was built in the 1970s and since then very little has been done. This extension will be welcomed by parents, children and staff of the school and members of the community who have put in lots of work fundraising and supporting the school over the years. I am delighted the Government was in a position to make the necessary funding available to allow the works to proceed.
“The extra rooms and the general purpose room will mean that pupils at Kilcredan National School will, when the project is completed, be a state of the art building so that the school curriculum can be fully implemented in all its formats.
“Great credit is due to staff of the school who ensured that all pupils received an excellent education in conditions that needed improvement.
“I am delighted that construction will now start and I wish everybody in Kilcredan National School the very best for the future.
