Cork East Fine Gael TD, David Stanton has been in contact with Cork County Council requesting they immediately carry out repair work to the road in Saleen village.

“Over the summer, I have received numerous complaints to my office regarding the very poor condition of the road in Saleen. Many residents I met while canvassing in the area at the weekend raised the issue and I was advised that quite a number of people have suffered damage to their cars while using the road.

“The road is really in an appalling condition and has been for a long time. It is imperative Cork County Council make funding available and to resurface the road. These works need to be scheduled urgently as parts of the road are virtually impassable.

“Residents in Saleen village and the new housing estates there are fully justified in their complaints regarding the state of the road. Remedial works are vital now, the road is continuing to deteriorate and is becoming more dangerous for road users.
