Cork East Fine Gael TD and Minister of State at the Department of Justice, David Stanton has welcomed the progress with a turnkey construction project at Cul Ard estate in Carrigtwohill. The project, once fully completed, will deliver 29 family homes
“I had the opportunity, today, to accompany Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government, Eoghan Murphy, on a site visit to Cul Ard housing estate, on Station Road in Carrigtwohill. Cul Ard was an unfinished estate and this turnkey project currently underway will deliver 29 homes of either two or three bedrooms.
“I understand that this project is being delivered in phases and to date 18 properties have been completed and that these are either tenanted, under offer or currently being advertised for letting under the Choice Based Letting system operated by Cork County Council. The remaining 11 properties are near completion.
“Rises in private rental costs and in house sales are also contributing to increasing pressure on the Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) schemes and the social housing waiting list. These homes are, therefore, a very welcome addition to Cork County Council’s housing stock in Carrigtwohill and the wider east Cork area where demand is extremely high for housing.
