Fine Gael TD for Cork East and Minister of State for Equality, Immigration and Integration, David Stanton has welcomed that the 31.38% decrease in the Live Register in Cork East Constituency since 2012.
“The Action Plan for Jobs was launched in February 2012 to reduce unemployment and support job creation we have seen the numbers signing on across the country decrease by over a third”, said Minister Stanton
“It is very encouraging to see such a substantial drop in numbers on the Live Register since February 2012. The numbers for Cork East Constituency, which covers Social Welfare Offices in Cobh, Fermoy, Mallow, Midleton and Youghal, show a reduction of 3,896 people signing on in the past 4 ½ years. This is welcome news for everyone in the East Cork area as every parent back in work will bring benefits to their family and every new job created by a business is a sign of returning confidence and growth.
