The award of €50,000 in funding for Cobh Community Hospital has been welcomed by David Stanton, Fine Gael TD for Cork East. The monies, allocated by the HSE, will used for the completion of the new dayroom in the hospital
“Work began on the new dayroom development in Cobh Community Hospital at the end of last year and has been ongoing since. This new dayroom will not only improve the quality of life for the 43 residents but will also help ensure compliance with HIQA requirements. It comes in addition to 12 new rooms recently made available in the Park Road Centre, fire safety measures and other improvements.
“Despite huge fundraising efforts of the Friends of Cobh Hospital, local people and hospital staff, the high level of improvement works undertaken recently in the hospital have meant that there was a funding shortfall. I am delighted that Cobh Hospital has been awarded €50,000 which will further enhance its services and facilities.
“I would like to congratulate everyone involved in the ongoing work that provides a safe community facility in the heart of Cobh for the benefit of the older and vulnerable citizens.
