The Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality will continue its hearings tomorrow, Wednesday, 26th February 2014 on submissions received in relation to domestic and sexual violence.
Among those attending tomorrow’s meeting are: representatives from Rape Crisis Network Ireland; Ruhama; Pavee Point Traveller and Roma Centre; Irish Congress of Trade Unions; Dublin Rape Crisis Centre; Sex Workers Alliance Ireland; Ugly Mugs Ireland; The Women’s Therapy Centre; National Disability Authority; The Irish Immigrant Support Centre (Nasc); and Do or Die Foundation.
Committee Chairman David Stanton, TD, said: “Tomorrow we will resume our hearings on the submissions we received in relation to the issue of domestic and sexual violence. It is an opportunity for us to continue our consideration of those submissions and to get the views of a number of individuals and groups on how the problem can be addressed, reduced and eliminated.”
The meeting will start in Committee Room 2 at 10am tomorrow, Wednesday, 26th February 2014 when Minister for Justice and Equality Alan Shatter TD will attend the Committee for a motion amending Decision 2005/681/JHA establishing the European Police College (CEPOL).
