Following the recent collapse of a section of wall at Moll Goggins Corner in Youghal, Cork East Fine Gael TD, David Stanton has contacted the Office of Public Works (OPW) seeking funding for emergency repair works.
“I have written to Minister Brian Hayes who has responsibility for the OPW to make him aware of the urgent need for funding to repair this section of wall. This is a very serious issue. I am aware that Cork County Council have applied to the OPW for financing for essential remedial works and I was anxious to express my support for their application.
“This is a very serious issue and while temporary safety measures have been put in place a long term solution is required. I am hopeful for positive response from the OPW to Cork County Council’s application with funding being made available soon.
